Job Title:

Order Readiness Helper, Asitrade (Night Shift)


3rd shift: 11:00 pm – 7:00 am Monday – Friday (occasional OT may be required)

Job Descritpion:

Order Readiness Helpers assist wet end operator with hanging rolls. They also help the operator by preparing the loads of top sheets for the aerator as well as aerating the loads. They help the wet end operator monitor the machine as well as make starch.

  1. Ability to read, write, communicate with others.
  2. Interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals and execute as needed.
  3. Lead and coordinate efforts of crew, as well as train crew members
  4. Set up of wet and/or dry end
  5. Ability to run lamination, single face corrugated, understand flute variation, and adhesives
  6. Operate all necessary testing equipment related to corrugated and laminating
  7. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using who numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Effective use of measurements and tools for each job
  8. Operate a forklift
  9. Basic computer skills/data entry
  10. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  11. Ability to multi-task, trouble shoot, problem solve, and utilize critical thinking
  12. Overall operation of equipment and associated instruments, make adjustments on pressure and corrugating roles
  13. Prepare starch and oversee adhesive application and controls to ensure no clogs/blockages
  14. Ordering/Loading/Unloading paper rolls
  15. Check splice performance, machine and paper temperatures, running speeds, alignment, and tension
  16. Review, interpret, and understand content of job jackets specific to customer orders
  17. Complete all orders/assignments in a timely and accurate manner
  18. Ensure quality or production that meets all aspects of specific customer requirements
  19. Achieve production and efficiency goals
  20. Troubleshoot equipment
  21. Set up required machine maintenance and perform routine preventative maintenance
  22. Perform and maintain records required for GMP’s or ISO
  23. Support continuous safety and improvement efforts that ensure a safe work environment

Essential Functions/Skills:

This job operates in a manufacturing environment. Temperature is uncontrolled, and there is heat, dust, noise, fumes, moving equipment and machinery.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: regularly standing, walking, climbing, bending, lifting, pushing/pulling, grasping, reaching at, below or above shoulder level, repetitive use of hands/fingers, visual and/or auditory requirements. Frequently handling a minimum of 50 lbs and occasionally up to 3500 lbs. by pushing on cart.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Other Duties:

This is a full-time position with minimal flexibility in work schedules/hours, but the employee should generally be available during the “core” work hours and for 8 or 10 hour shifts, and must agree to variation in work schedules/hours, all duties as assigned, and all overtime. Education and Experience:

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Equivalent training, certifications, or experience
  3. 2 to 5 years in an Assistant or Apprenticeship role on comparable equipment
