Michael and Mary Drummond thank everyone

Michael and Mary Drummond “We wouldn’t be here today without everyone of you.”

PackRite, LLC recently celebrated their 10-year anniversary by hosting an open house at their High Point, North Carolina manufacturing facility. Over 300 people attended the celebration including customers, business associates, current and past and present employees, members of the High Point business community and local government officials. The event included tours of Packrite’s nearly 200,000 sq.ft. manufacturing and design facility, live demonstrations of some of the latest packaging machinery and technology, a catered lunch and live music.

Packrite co-owners, Mary and Michael Drummond, were on hand to offer family like greetings to all visitors. In a brief presentation to their guests the Drummonds thanked everyone for joining them to celebrate this very important milestone. “Eleven years ago we started planning a new company. Ten years ago we opened our doors with just 18 employees,” says Michael Drummond. “Today our Packrite family of employees has grown to over 100. Our business has grown to include new customers and new markets. And our facility has expanded to meet the needs of our customers. This would not have been possible without everyone here today and many others.”

Employees, friends, family, customers and suppliers were on hand to help celebrate.

Packrite opened its door in 2008 as a business designed to cater to the underserved micorflute market. “We’re a trade finisher for the corrugated and folding carton packaging industries,” says Drummond. “We offer our customers a means to expand their capabilities and offerings without the investment in capital equipment that they may not have the throughput to support on a full-time basis.” Packrite started in 2008 with a state-of-the-art 65 inch Bobst Asitrade singleface laminator. Packrite now operates two Asitrades including a state-of-the-art 87 inch Bobst Masterflute 324 Asitrade that was installed in 2015 – first of its kind in the world – and multiple Bobst diecutters and folder-gluers.

There’s nothing run of the mill at Packrite. Each piece of equipment has some special feature that is not found in the typical box plant. From the capabilities of the two Asitrades, to handle inserters, inline box rotators on the folder gluers, windowing machines and registration sections for near perfect print to cut registration.

Teamwork and mutually beneficial partnerships

Teamwork and mutually beneficial partnerships are key to success.

“It’s the ability to expand the capabilities of our trade finishing customers, and the one-stop-shop capabilities we can offer to our brand customers that has contributed to our success over these past ten years,” says Drummond. “And it is our plan to continue offering leading edge technology, outstanding service and expanded capabilities to our customers.”
