Packrite begins 2017 with great optimism having increased year-over-year sales by double digits each year since it’s founding in 2008. This has earned the company the distinction of being named by Inc. Magazine as one of America’s Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies for each of the past five years. What’s Packrite’s secret? Company President Michael Drummond explains, “We’re in the business of making it possible for our box and carton plant customers to offer more to their customers and do so at highly competitive prices. The more successful our trade customers are, the more successful we are.”

“On February 16th we’re opening our entire plant to demonstrate the many ways we can help our customers grow their own businesses,” stated Drummond. “While the concept of trade finishing is common with commercial printers, it’s still a fairly new idea in corrugated. We’re offer precision diecutting, complex folding and gluing, windowing as well as providing Asitrade singleface litho-lamination. We also sell the flattest cold-set sheets from our two Asitrades. Each service is available individually or we can provide complete start to finish production where we handle everything — including purchasing litho-printed top sheets. When we take jobs in their entirety all our boxmaker customer has to do is invoice their customers.”

In late 2015, just before the new year, Packrite supplemented an existing Asitrade with a 64 by 87” MF324 Masterflute Asitrade singleface laminator. “Our new one is the largest of its kind in North America and one of only three in the world,” according to Drummond. It runs both sheet to roll and roll to roll in C, B, E, F and N flutes. Sheets can then be diecut on one of the largest diecutters made, an 82 by 51 inch Bobst Mastercut 2.1 with Power Register. “The 2.1’s Power Register allows us to achieve a print to cut accuracy within 1/64th of an inch, easily the best in the world. Our 145 Expertcut also achieves the same remarkable accuracy and, when added, was the first in the world cross-over machine, able to run folding carton as well as fluted sheets.”

Packrite also thinks big when it comes to folding and gluing. “We  configured our Masterfold 170 with not one, but two Gyrobox rotators and 36 glue guns. That means we can glue in one direction, rotate to 90 degrees or up to 180 degrees and glue again. It also has an inserter for the inline addition of handles and other items.”

“Each of these unique features give us the ability to create complex products in a single pass thereby, in many cases, halving machine time and generating a substantial savings for our customers,” promises Drummond. “Savings, as well as capability, was one of our primary concerns with each of our machine purchases. Larger sheet sizes enable us to laminate and diecut two, four, sometimes as many as 8 or even 16 up on a single sheet, again greatly saving machine time on our Asitrades and diecutters.”

Michael Drummond states, “All of our services, including structural design will be on display and operating in live production during our Open House. Register and plan to join us on February 16th.”
